About Alexandra Palace
Alexandra Palace is an entertainment and sports venue in north London, between Wood Green and Muswell Hill in the London Borough of Haringey. A Grade II listed building, it was designed by John Johnson and Alfred Meeson and opened in 1873; after a fire two weeks later it was rebuilt by Johnson. It was intended as the People's Palace and is often nicknamed Ally Pally. In 1900 a group of neighbouring local authorities acquired it, and an Act of Parliament created the Alexandra Palace and Park Trust. The present trustee is the London Borough of Haringey. This page is an independent guide and is not affiliated with the venue.
