About Etihad Stadium
The Etihad Stadium, formerly known as the City of Manchester Stadium, is the home of Premier League club Manchester City. Its domestic football capacity is 61,038, making it the sixth-largest football stadium in England. It was built to host the 2002 Commonwealth Games and was later converted from a 38,000-capacity arena into a football stadium. Manchester City moved there from Maine Road in the summer of 2003. The stadium has since staged the 2008 UEFA Cup final, England internationals, rugby league matches, a boxing world title fight and summer music concerts. It was designed and engineered by Arup, with a cable-stayed roof supported by twelve exterior masts. This page is an independent guide and is not affiliated with the venue.
