About London Palladium
The London Palladium is a Grade II* listed West End theatre on Argyll Street in the Soho district. Frank Matcham designed it and it opened in 1910. The auditorium holds 2,286 people. Many stars have performed there, often in televised shows. Between 1955 and 1969 the ITV programme Sunday Night at the London Palladium was staged at the venue, and the 13 October 1963 edition included a performance by the Beatles, after which a newspaper headline coined the term Beatlemania. It is therefore as much a television landmark as a place for musicals and variety.
